I dropped Andy off at his office late Friday night. After many, many hours of manifesting and double checking this and that and the other, he truly took off to Iraq early Saturday morning. I got to speak to him late Sunday night and he has made it safely to his destination. As soon as I have a mailing address we're sure of, I will post it!
So, on Friday, before Andy left, we were out running errands and the weather was pretty icky. He was telling me about how he was disappointed that he was going to miss winter-time and Christmas and the snow. He asked me to get pictures of the snow when it came and send them to him - as if I wouldn't. ;)
Anyway, later on we were going to go to Freddy's for dinner and I went to let Daphne out before we left. When I opened the door I was just blown away by what I saw. I called Andy over and he was too. It was snowing!!
We didn't think it would keep up or stick around - but it kept going for a couple hours and piled up a bit on parked cars. Like Harrison:
Amazing. It's like the universe said "Hey, Andy - here's some snow for ya before you ship out to the desert for a year." =)
Well, it'll be a long year, but he will have a break: He'll be coming back on his R&R in April for Greg and Carrie's wedding in Pennsylvania. We're really looking forward to it!!
