Ok, this is going to be a quickie.
Today's topic: Something you're afraid of.
I'm not going to sugar coat this and list filler stuff like flying (because I still do when I have to) or spiders (because how afraid could I be if I kill so many in a day?) or murderers (because who's not afraid of murderers?). I guess technically I am a murderer of spiders - but that's not what we're talking about.
Here it is and I'm not explaining any further:
I love Andy. Andy is in the Army. The Army sent Andy to Iraq.
If you love me or Andy or our families or friends, then you can appreciate that fear.
That being said - if you're one of the people who think something along the lines of:
"Well, you knew he'd be deploying"
or "You knew what you got yourself into when you married him"
or "Well, at least he's not in Afghanistan" (a comment I hate more than most)
- please, keep your mouth shut. You obviously have no idea what's going on - in Iraq or anywhere else, especially not here at Ft. Riley. And none of that matters - it doesn't change what I fear.
Last thing I'd like to say: June was a rough month. If you know, you know - if you don't, you don't. I'm not going to tell the stories here today, but even if I did I don't think I could convey everything that happened and all the emotions that came with it well enough for you to really grasp what this fear is...unless you also experience it.

I am so proud of you this past month! You have stepped up more than any person should be asked to. Thank you for your love of Andy, the Army, and the families of our unit!!!
Thanks, Christie - that really means a lot!
You are a wonderful, strong woman! I also hate when people say at least he is not in Afghanistan...yuck. Love you!

Thanks, Collen! I can't wait til your back!
You are an amazing and strong woman, and I think a bit of fear (okay quite a bit- because I've been there when Rick went over there) is healthy. I'd agree with all the comments you mentioned as ones you don't like to hear, and then some (one I got last fall-well at least he won't be there for long). Love you!
VERY WELL said! You are an amazingly selfless person who has a huge heart and an amazing wit!
