Have you ever heard of shellac? It's a nail polish that is baked on the nail in between coats and it supposedly lasts for 2 weeks instead of just a few days. My mom and I had that done today, so we'll see how well it really works!
Today's topic: What's in your purse?
Oh yeah, let's play this game. Anybody want to place bets on how many receipts or gum wrappers are floating around in there? Actually, before I flew down I cleaned it out a bit so it hasn't had enough time to fill up with junk yet.
Let's take a look:
A package of Winterfresh gum - which I thought was sugar-free, but it turns out it isn't...
A broken necklace and its pieces
A 1st Infantry Division pin
My iPod shuffle that I named Thin Mint
My iPhone car charger
A tiny container with a pair of pearl earrings
A black pen
My Flip video camera
My really old glasses in my really old glasses case
A pair of sunglasses
My super-cute, still new Vera Bradley wallet (love it!) in Folkloric
A 2oz bottle of Country Chic lotion by B&BW
A quart sized plastic baggy containing a lemon scented hand sanitizer and a Dr. Pepper lip gloss (in a 2 liter shaped bottle)
My digital camera and iPod (Fiona) in the same purple and pink zipper pouch
A smashed Junior Mint from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 double feature last week
A Physicians Formula compact in "Translucent" because that's how pale I am
A tube of Cover Girl NatureLuxe lipgloss, color #245
My iPhone, Owen
A Bobby pin
My watch
And a mostly eaten bag of M&M's
Wasn't that fun? For the record this isn't entirely normal. The pearl earrings are in there because I didn't want them left in my checked bag while I flew - yes I'm one of those - and I love these earrings. Usually the car charger is, well, in the car. I don't normally carry candy around with me, but I've seen a couple movies lately. I don't bring my iPod with me most places, shuffle or regular, but I like having them when I travel, even if it's a quick trip. I also don't keep broken jewelry, but this necklace broke while I was in Target and I found all the pieces and I'm pretty sure I can salvage it and that's worth it to me. The rest of the stuff is pretty normal.
If you said "Hey, Chapstick isn't on the list!" you are quite right! (Thanks for following along since Day 12 at least!) Typically, if I'm wearing something with pockets, then I've got a tube on me - but I literally just now discovered that the week-old tube of Cherry Chapstick I had is now missing.
Suddenly my lips hurt real bad...gosh!
