WOW look at what day it is!
Today's topic: 3 Wishes.
This is a pretty hokey topic. I feel like the person who made this list got lazy towards the end of making this list...whatever.
Here I am taking this topic seriously:
1 - I wish that my mail would be delivered properly. Yup. It turns out that moving from one of the oldest houses on post to one of the newest houses (see Day 27) means that you don't get mail regularly anymore. It was hard enough to get mail at the old house - there was debate between the street address being "Lower Brick Row" or just "Brick Row" and if the "A" in the street number was really the apartment indicator or not. I knew that this house being in a brand new development might create some weirdness around my mail, but I've been here for going on three months...puh-lease, they know we're down here (the post office is up on the hill). Some days I don't get any mail and if I do get mail it's never delivered at the same time...not even close. Here's an example of the madness: My mom put something in the mail for me and I received it on June 22nd. That's fine - EXCEPT that it was post marked June 1st. It took three weeks (three weeks!) to get here?! Sometimes I don't get my bills, so it's a good thing that I know when they come due... if I relied on getting my bill in the mail, I'd totally miss it! Plus, plus, plus (the most frustrating aspect of this currently) I don't get my Netflix DVDs. If you have Netflix then you know two things: 1) they send you an email telling you when to expect your next DVD and 2) they just upped their prices. Andy and I use both the watch instantly and DVD-by-mail enough that even though we're super unhappy about their price increase we're going to stick with both services for the time being. However, it's hard to justify it when your DVDs are routinely late (later now, actually, since the price increase was announced). Week before last I was supposed to get a DVD on Tuesday and it came on Friday! I hate to sound petty - not getting a DVD is frustrating but it's not the worst thing - but if I'm not getting my DVDs, then what else am I not getting that I don't even know is supposed to be coming? BAH!!
2 - I wish that they'd make the Arrested Development movie already. I don't even care if it sucks, just do it. Because even if it does kinda suck by movie standards, it'll still be pretty good for AD fans. They've been going back and forth about this since the series ended - and I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan until long after that point, but if a TV show can gain more fans after being cancelled it must be good. Here's how the movie should go: Open with Ron whatshisface narrating Michael doing something in the model home. Enter George Michael awkwardly. Cut to a scene between Maeby and Lindsey, cut to a quick shot of one of Lindsey's wine and cheese fundraisers. Laughs! New scene and new narration for Lucille drinking and yelling at Lupe, and Buster doing something involving "Hey, brother" in their apartment - maybe they're getting ready for MotherBoy. Cut to Gob's magic act and loop "Final Countdown" in the background. Cut to George Michael working at the banana stand. Cut to Tobias crying in the shower in his cut-offs. Cut to George Sr. in jail begging to get out, claiming to be Oscar. Cut to Oscar (or is it?) hitch-hiking to Berkley. Then just have a random curtain call type scene that includes everyone who ever guested on the show - from all the different Martas, to Lucille 2, to Sally Sitwell and her dad with the no-hair thing, and Andy Richter who played the quintuplets, Annyong, Tom Jane, Bland (I mean Anne), Kitty Sanchez, George Michael's teacher who loved Saddam Hussein, STEVE HOLT! - everybody. Constant laughs. Then end with a Bluth trying to pitch their life as a movie and narrator Ron HOWARD! (right!) saying "I don't see it as a movie - maybe a TV show." Wink! HILARITY! Throw in a few "Her?"s and Bluths trying to be chickens, and jokes about turning illusions for money and you got yourself cinematic gold...or something.
Oh, it's been "announced", that's a step in the right direction!
3 - I wish for more wishes, duh.
