Day 9!

Hi - hope your weekend is going well!

Today's topic: A favorite picture of your best friend.

A lot of people call their spouse their best fried, and Andy and I are no different.  But here's the thing - I wrote about him already on Day 3.  You can read it here.  Let's face it - I am lucky enough to have two best friends so I'm going to write about my non-husband one today!

Meghan Hoskins!
I picked this picture because I feel like it epitomizes our relationship:
Krispy Kreme and short distance road trips.
Meghan and I met in 2002 in between our sophomore and junior years of high school.  We met because we were both on the drumline in the marching band (whatever, it was not *that* uncool at our school).  One night during our week-long camp there was a meeting/picnic for our parents and us.  We were playing kickball while the parents were meeting and Meghan and I were encouraged to chill in the outfield.  I was just being goofy when I asked her if she wanted to join my crime-fighting dance team duo... but she said yes.  I said we needed names - mine would be Speed Demon and she chose Fast Mojo and for reasons neither of us can pinpoint a friendship was born.

Since then we've had way too many goofy moments together.... We've been to Kokomo, TX and Jolly, TX (for obvious reasons) and we've single-handedly kept the chocolate milk, string cheese, and fruit snack industries in business.  Even though we went to separate colleges we managed to stay close and we even went on to be each other's Maid of Honor in our weddings.

Now that the Army has taken me away from DFW it's harder to hang out in person, but it's odd if we go a day or two without talking in some way!  Even if it is just to leave a way-too-long-voicemail about something silly.

She's about to become a new mom soon and she's pretty much going to be amazing! (Can't wait to give that kid a bag of candy - and then give him back to his parents!) I also can't wait until I'm a mom and my kids' know she's mom's bestie.  We're going to be friends for a long, long, long, long time... or else Wait, what?        ;) jays 'n kays

Yay, we're friends! It's funny that you say we were "encouraged to chill in the outfield". It's not our fault no one had faith in our kickball abilities. I also like that pic, 'cause we're fatties who drive places. :) jays 'n kays (but not really)
